Jurassic World 4 Release Date, Trailer, Cast, Plot and Everything We Know

The beloved Jurassic Park franchise is getting another instalment with Jurassic World 4. This will be the seventh film in the series, beginning in 1993 with Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park. Jurassic World 4 promises to take the franchise in an exciting new direction.

Jurassic World 4 Release Date

Jurassic World 4 is scheduled to hit theaters on July 2, 2025. Filming is expected to begin later this year in 2024. This gives the creative team plenty of time to bring this new chapter to life before the planned summer 2025 release.

Based on previous Jurassic World production timelines, filming will likely last several months. That puts the movie on track for finishing primary photography in early 2025. Then the post-production visual effects team will have over a year to work their magic before Jurassic World 4 arrives on the big screen.

Jurassic World 4 Trailer

There is no movie trailer yet since filming hasn’t started. But with an early summer 2025 release date, fans can probably expect to see a teaser trailer in late 2024. Based on the exciting trailers for the previous Jurassic World movies, the teaser will likely feature some epic dinosaur footage to get fans hyped for the next instalment.

Past trailers have dropped big reveals like our first look at the aquatic Mosasaurus or the feathered Atrociraptor. So the Jurassic World 4 teaser will surely showcase one or more terrifying new dinosaurs in action.

Jurassic World 4 Cast

The cast for Jurassic World 4 hasn’t been revealed yet. With the movie taking the story in a new direction, it will likely feature mostly new characters. However, producer Frank Marshall recently hinted in an interview that some familiar faces could appear. “I never say never to seeing any character from the previous films back in a future instalment,” Marshall said.

So, while a whole new cast of human characters will spearhead Jurassic World 4, we may see Jeff Goldblum, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, or other stars from the recent trilogy in cameo roles.

Jurassic World 4 Plot

Specific plot details are being kept under wraps for now. Producer Frank Marshall has described Jurassic World 4 as the “start of a new era” for the franchise. Unlike the previous films, he also confirmed this would be an original story not based on a Michael Crichton novel.

In an interview, director Gareth Edwards gave a small tease about the plot and tone. “We’re going to take the franchise in a bold new direction that builds on the foundations of Jurassic Park,” Edwards said. “The film has a great script with complex characters and terrifying new dinosaurs.”

We can expect intense action sequences based on Edwards’ past movies like Godzilla and Rogue One. And since this is a new chapter in the series, the story will introduce new types of dinosaurs we haven’t seen before on the big screen.

Everything We Know So Far

The creative team is trying to capture the magic that made 1993’s Jurassic Park such a classic while taking audiences somewhere they haven’t gone before in this universe. By bringing back OG writer David Koepp and building on the solid foundation of the previous World films, they seem poised to achieve that.

With talented director Gareth Edwards leading the way into uncharted territory with what will surely be eye-popping visual effects, Jurassic World 4 has the critical ingredients for success, especially if they find room to work in Goldblum or Pratt in this new story.

The sequel will have huge shoes to fill following up the $1 billion-grossing Jurassic World: Dominion in 2022. But with Jurassic being one of Hollywood’s biggest and most popular franchises, moviegoers will be lining up to experience this next chapter on the big screen. And see what thrilling new dinosaur action Gareth Edwards has cooked for them.
