2024 Kawasaki H2R  Review: Features, Specs and Price in India

The Kawasaki H2R is one of the most powerful and exciting motorcycles in the world. For 2024, Kawasaki has made some minor updates to keep the H2R fresh and competitive. In this article, we will take a look at what’s new on the 2024 Kawasaki H2R, its key features, specs, and pricing for the Indian market.

Overview of the 2024 Kawasaki H2R

The 2024 Kawasaki H2R retains the same imposing, muscular design as the outgoing model. However, keen observers will notice the new paint scheme for 2024. Kawasaki H2R now comes painted in the Mirror Coated Spark Black colour with green accents.

At the heart of the H2R is a 998cc, supercharged, liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine. This powerplant is tuned to deliver a monstrous 310 hp of maximum power at 14,000 rpm and 165 Nm of peak torque at 12,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The 2024 Kawasaki H2R employs a lightweight trellis frame made of high-tensile steel.

Suspension duties are handled by 43mm inverted front forks and Ohlins TTX36 mono-shock at the rear. Braking power comes from 330mm dual discs at the front and a single 250mm disc at the rear.

New Updates on the 2024 Kawasaki H2R

For 2024, the Kawasaki H2R has not received any major updates. The bike looks almost identical to the outgoing model. The only change is the new paint scheme, which helps give the hyperbike a fresh new look. The technical specifications and mechanical components have been carried over from the 2023 H2R.

2024 Kawasaki H2R – Design and Styling

The Kawasaki H2R commands attention with its sharply sculpted fairing and muscular styling. The imposing front end features a pair of LED headlamps and air intake vents. The fairing has been optimized for aerodynamic efficiency to offer stability at high speeds.

Viewed from the side, the H2R looks dramatic with its massive fuel tank shrouds and single-sided swingarm. The sculpted tail section and stubby exhaust muffler add to the bike’s aggressive styling. The all-black paintwork with luminescent green graphics makes the Kawasaki H2R look like a predator on the prowl.

Engine and Performance

As mentioned earlier, powering the 2024 Kawasaki H2R is a 998cc, liquid-cooled, supercharged inline four-cylinder engine. This motor generates an astonishing 310 hp of power at 14,000 rpm and 165 Nm of torque at 12,500 rpm.

The highlight of this engine is the supercharger which helps boost power across the rev range. The lightweight engine components including forged pistons and titanium con-rods help it rev quickly. Advanced electronics like ride-by-wire throttle offers precise throttle response.

Thanks to its powerful motor, the H2R offers ballistic acceleration – capable of hitting 100 kph from a standstill in just 3 seconds! The top speed is electronically limited to 400 kph. But test runs on closed circuits have seen the Kawasaki H2R touch speeds over 450 kph!

Electronic Rider Aids

The latest iteration of the Kawasaki H2R comes equipped with a plethora of electronic rider aids designed for the racetrack. These aids work in conjunction with the advanced Bosch IMU and help keep this supercharged monster under control.

Some of the key electronic aids include:

  • Kawasaki Cornering Management Function
  • Kawasaki Launch Control
  • Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Braking System
  • Kawasaki Traction Control System
  • Kawasaki Engine Brake Control
  • Kawasaki Quick Shifter

These systems offer varying levels of traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS and other assist functions to aid the rider. There are four rider modes – Low, Middle, High and Full Power. As the name suggests, Full Power mode offers unbridled performance.

Chassis and Suspension Setup

The Kawasaki H2R employs a hand-welded aluminium trellis frame that offers high tensile strength. The lightweight frame construction helps keep overall weight low and improves handling. Suspension duties are handled by top-spec components from Ohlins.

The suspension comprises:

  • 43mm inverted front forks with rebound, compression damping adjustability
  • Ohlins TTX36 rear mono-shock with piggyback reservoir
  • Öhlin electronic steering damper

With a kerb weight of just 216 kg and finely tuned suspension, the 2024 H2R offers sharp, responsive handling and incredible stability at high speeds.

Brakes and tyres

To rein in all that supercharged power, the Kawasaki H2R relies on track-spec braking hardware. It runs huge 330mm dual discs at the front paired with Brembo M50 callipers. The rear gets a 250mm disc with a two-piston calliper.

The braking setup offers tremendous stopping power to quickly scrub off speed before corners. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard.

Wrapping the brake hardware are 120/600R17 front and 190/650R17 rear slick tyres. These track-focused tyres provide incredible grip and feedback on the racetrack.

Pricing and Availability

The limited edition 2024 Kawasaki H2R is priced at ₹ 79.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Only a handful of units will make their way to India every year. Being a CBU import, the H2R also attracts high import duties.

If you have the skills and budget to handle this track-focused hyperbike, the 2024 Kawasaki H2R can prove to be an incredible machine. Its cutting-edge electronics and lightweight construction make it one of the most capable production bikes around a racetrack.
